SEF CHANGES THE POLICY FOR GOLDEN VISA APPOINTMENTS

DRP Advisers want to inform all interested parties there are important updates on the policy for the schedule of biometrics for Golden Visa applications.

It was announced by the entity in charge of the Golden Visa processes – Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (SEF) – that this change is happening to solve the backlog of appointments.

The new process will take place automatically and in chronological order, according to the online SEF submission date, starting with all investors that were submitted for pre-analysis until the end of march, 2021. In their statement posted on social media, SEF said that “principles of equality, opportunity and availability” are the basis that supports this decision.

The expectations on this new process are high and shall have a relevant impact on the biometrics’ scheduling.

Therefore, since January 12th, 2022, the responsible in charge of investors applications are expected to receiving an e-mail from SEF indicating the available date for the biometrics scheduling. In the ARI Portal are shown a period of 10 days for the scheduling of the appointments.

DRP Advisers will inform its represented investors as soon as such notice is received and we recommend all investors and their dependents, first, to respond to the e-mail indicating the preferred date as soon as the e-mail is received, since they only provide 10 days to schedule these appointments; and secondly, to attend the scheduled appointment, since there is no information on what can happen to the applications that do not comply on the proposed dates.
