EasyJet is set to broaden its network in 2025 by introducing new routes from Portugal, notably connecting Funchal, Madeira, to Nantes, France, and Amsterdam, Netherlands. The Funchal-Nantes service is scheduled to commence on March 30, 2025, with flights operating twice weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays during July and August. For the remainder of the year, the route will maintain three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays. Additionally, the Funchal-Amsterdam connection will offer two flights per week throughout the entire year.
Beyond these additions, EasyJet plans to enhance its summer 2025 schedule with several new connections across Portugal. These include routes linking Lisbon to Palermo, Split, and Milan Linate, as well as flights from Faro to Zurich and Bordeaux. The airline aims to provide over 7 million seats to and from Portugal during the summer season, reinforcing its commitment to offering affordable and convenient travel options.
José Lopes, General Manager of EasyJet Portugal, emphasized the significance of these developments, stating, "The opening of new routes is always a significant step and reflects our commitment to accessibility and expanding the most affordable and convenient travel options for our passengers." He added that the airline is excited to offer direct connections that cater to the growing demand for international travel and enhance links between Portugal and other attractive destinations.
These strategic expansions align with EasyJet's broader objective to strengthen Portugal's position as a key hub in Europe, providing passengers with a wider array of travel choices and fostering greater connectivity across the continent.
